Executive Development Conference

Our annual summer conference is intended for head of department Fire Chiefs, Chief Officers and any Fire Service professionals who currently hold or wish to pursue a career in leadership. The educational program is structured as all general sessions, bringing together executive and management level discussions as well as topics at the forefront of concern. This program aims to give the participants a broader view of Fire Service issues and their role as leaders to influence the future of their department and the industry as a whole.

Full registration to the conference includes access to various networking events and a guest pass for a spouse/partner. In an industry so close knit and where relationships matter, this event fosters the concept of the "fire family" and encourages participants to connect and share ideas with one another so together, we can make the Fire Service better than we left it.

The vendor opportunity at this event is through sponsorship and a limited vendor showcase of cocktail rounds with only informational material/giveaways permitted to give all vendors equal representation.

COVID-19 Safety Precautions & Reassurances

Updated: 06/7/2021

In accordance with the recent guidance from the CDC regarding fully vaccinated individuals, the Florida Fire Chiefs' Association will abide by any safety precautions and/or restrictions in place at the host venue - the Sheraton Panama City Beach. Please note the below safety measures that will be in place during the 2021 Executive Development Conference, subject to change dependent upon any changes per CDC, local, state or federal government guidance/mandate:

  • *UPDATED: The Sheraton Panama City Beach will no longer require face coverings for vaccinated guests. Face masks and social distancing will be optional for fully vaccinated attendees who have received both doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines or the Johnson & Johnson single dose with 2 weeks past the final 2-shot dose series or single dose series. Those in attendance that are not fully vaccinated should continue to take all precautions established by the CDC.
  • *UPDATED: Temperature checks and social distancing will NOT be in effect during the conference.
  • Additional safety reassurances at the Sheraton Panama City Beach:
    • Hand sanitation stations throughout the resort.
    • Electrostatic sprayer on all high touch surface areas throughout the day.
    • Increased all cleaning policies at the resort and require all associates to take their temperature prior to coming to work along with not allowing anyone with any other symptoms to come to work. Anyone with symptoms has to then get a COVID-19 test and must get a negative result before returning to work. 
    • This resort has been very fortunate not to have any issues to date.
    • Additionally you may review the Marriott Standard Commitment to Clean which details all aforementioned efforts.

Silent Auction

The Executive Development Conference Silent Auction is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Foundation. Proceeds from the auction go to support the mission of the foundation as well as that of the Fire Cadet Section.

Online pre-event bidding ended at 5:00 PM EDT on Sunday, July 11, 2021. Bids placed through online bids will be transferred to the paper bid sheets and bidding will begin at the highest bid. Event attendees and their guests will be able to register onsite.

Onsite registration and bidding will start on Saturday, July 17, at 7:30 AM central, and will end on Monday, July 19 at 1:00 PM, after the Silent Auction Reception. Bidders must be registered and provide credit card information first in order to be able to place a bid.

PLEASE NOTE: You must be present to win. Won items must be picked up in person and will not be shipped.
