About Us
Since 1958, the Florida Fire Chiefs' Association (FFCA) has served the chief fire executive of career, combination and volunteer departments. In 1993, the decision was made to open the membership up to any individual involved in fire and emergency services from the chief fire executive to the firefighter and to serve these members by establishing professional interest sections where specialized programming is offered.
In 1994, the Florida Fire Chiefs' Foundation was established as a not-for-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Florida and received its IRS classification as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Foundation funds and hosts educational events throughout the year in collaboration and for the membership of the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Association to ensure we are meeting the current needs and goals of the Florida fire service. The Foundation also provides scholarships for aspiring firefighters/EMT, educational grants for professional development and is always seeking new and current ways to best support the industry and those who serve it.
The association is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of a six-member Executive Board, six Regional Directors, a Senior Member representing retirees and the Executive Director. The organization is currently headquartered in Tallahassee.
FFCA represents over 2,200 members.
